Rhubarb - Planet Saver, Laxative, Kidney Stone Maker?

A lot of my research starts with me investigating a lot of my favorite foods from my youth. My grandmother used to bake the greatest strawberry-rhubarb pie and make my favorite food on earth a rhubarb sauce from her home-grown rhubarb patch. My research into the benefits of eating rhubarb, and rhubarb on a whole, yielded some surprising results. Number one, rhubarb, in small doses, is a great laxative. Two, rhubarb leaves are an excellent natural filter for chlorofluorocarbons. Three, rhubarb leaves are poisonous and should be avoided at all costs. Fourth, rhubarb itself actually can cause kidney stones. Fifth, rhubarb has been used to treat headaches and constipation, but with the risk of kidney stones, there are much better options! I must say that I was both highly disappointed about the adverse health risks of rhubarb, but at the same time maybe we should all have a rhubarb patch in our backyards just like my grandmother did, we might just help save the planet!
