Even though stinging nettle will give you hives, it can also take them away. Hives occure when histamines are injected into your skin and the skin becomes red and itchy. Hives can also form from allergic reactions that come from food or drugs. Once you get hives, you want to get rid of them. A great cure for hives is stinging nettle, which can be purchased in capsule form at most health food stores. You can also make a tea out of the dried root of the stinging nettle plant, but the pills are much easier to take and don't have the risk of causing more hives. Take one pill about every two hours until the itch and redness of the hives subside.
